Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson in Daredevil

We asked, we begged, we complained, and now we like to think we’ve been heard. After years of uncertainty, we finally have confirmation that two key characters will still be in Matt Murdock’s life when Daredevil: Born Again arrives. Variety reports that both Deborah Ann Woll (as Karen Page) and Elden Henson (as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson) have been spotted on set for the upcoming Disney+ series.

All the way back in 2022, Cox himself was hopeful that the two would return, but Marvel just kept not saying anything, no matter how many times Woll and Henson were asked if they would be on the show. But it would make very little sense to bring back not just Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) but also the more recently announced Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) and leave Karen and Foggy behind.

In Netflix’s Daredevil (pictured above), Foggy was Matt’s best friend and the co-founder of their law firm, Nelson and Murdock. He was for a long time unaware of Matt’s other job, and the eventual revelation put a strain on their friendship for some time. Karen was key to an investigation in the first season; when it cost her her job (and almost her life), she started working as Nelson and Murdock’s office manager. (Eventually she also became a totally untrained journalist. Don’t ask too many questions.)

The relationships among the three characters are the heart of Daredevil as we knew it, and it’s such good news that the new series will bring that dynamic back into play.

Daredevil: Born Again initially had an 18-episode order, but following all of the turnover in the creative team, it’s unclear if that is still the case. But eventually, some number of episodes will arrive on Disney+. icon-paragraph-end
